My official intro thread
Hi All...
Just traded in a Mean Streak on a '03 SuperHawk. Absolutely love the bike!
I've had a few old-school sport bike in days gone by... and getting on the Mean Streak was a way to get back into bikes, but the muscle cruiser thing isn't for me... at all.
Up until this year I hadn't been on a bike in about 13 years or so... Last one was a 1986 VFR1000R with HRC odd-fire race engine (it was fun). Previous others were older 700, 750, and 500 Interceptors an RC30 for investment.. A few RM dirt bikes, ATV's... the usual.
I had gone to the dealer to buy a used 800 Interceptor, but someone put money on it while I was standing there negotiating. I was going to leave and decided to sit on the SH. Fired it up and the carbon Jardines spoke to me... had to have the bike. After purchasing the bike and preparing to leave, the mechanic walked out to go home and told me it was his brother's old bike and proceeded to fill me in on what has been done to it, what it dyno'd, etc. Pretty cool, he didn't have to do that.
All I know is it is nice to be back on a sport bike that I can sling into a corner properly and let the torque yank me through. Great bike.
So.. I'm going to sit back and read through the info here. Thanks in advance for the great forum and load of information.

Updated profile to show I live in Southeastern WI. The land of mosquitoes.
*ALLEGEDLY* the bike has had reground cams, manual CCT, rejetted, carbon Jardine cans, new gold chain and sprockets, forks rebuilt and revalved (seem a bit stiff to me though IMHO) and a new rear shock (looks stock, but new). I know it idles really lopey and goes pretty respectably. Very wheelie prone through 3rd gear.
Pics maybe tonight.. I only have crappy pic in my garage

There are a number of us on the Unofficial Superhawk Forum who are into our 60's. There's me, nath, oahuhawk and others. And I don't even have gray hair, but I do ride a gray VTR.
Hell, maybe we should just hang up our SuperHawks and get one of those old folks 4 wheeled Medicare scooters with 10 mph top speed.
Oh, and Welcome rearview...very nice bike.

I hereby renounce my old fart status, effective immediately. This bike lets me ride like I'm years younger.
Thanks for all the warm welcomes guys... Learning a lot here, hope I can contribute soon.
