My first VTR, well most of one
I have just collected tools as i go. My father is a sculptor, here is his website, www.rickbooth.com
so i ALMOST got really upset. I put the bike in gear and tried to roll it to free the rings from the sleeves. What do you know, it rolled with no resistance and the pistons never moved. DAMNIT, dont tell me i have to rebuild the tranny too.
Then i took a few seconds to investigate and discovered the clutch basket is missing, WHEW, thank Buddha.

Sorry can't help you, I've never had that side of the engine apart.
But you can download the service manual here: https://www.superhawkforum.com/forum...ad.php?t=11365 That might help.

It's to dampen engine noise, especially clutch/transmission rattle.
This allows the manufacturer to make the cover thinner..............
Which also makes it more fragile..............
So you get to exercise your welding skills.

Truckinduc - Great to see your storm getting a gleeful winter dismembering
Took a peek at your dad's website (see where you get it all from!) - I'd be interested to see any pics of progress on the JagdStuart - ta
I've an artist friend who's into recycled sculpture - Junkyard Wars style, though I think the finished Stuey would stomp all over it.

I know the term port and polish, but what does that entale as far as what you have to do, what tools and materials ect? I might just be clueless, but do you just polish the air passage ways out?
Sounds like you're having fun Truckinduc. My riding buddy has 2 Ducs, an 851 and a 998. No question of when he's around, with the clutch clatter.
Your thread is starting get legs...like the PWNT.

porting is enlarging and reshaping the intake and exhaust ports for better flow and gas speed.
Polishing further increases the airflow velocity, but you dont really wanna polish the intake ports because a tad of turbulence helps with fuel atozimation.
Ill be doing a mild port cause the honda ports are designed well from the factory.
QUESTION, what do you guys think of a 1 piece carbon fiber tank-tail section?
