Nice nice nice! I like the look of that lower fairing on the race bike.

8541Hawk will become famous soon enough
But poking around the Moriwaki site they do have a few VTR1000f parts listed...... time to make a couple of inquiries.....

No it's an Ohlins shock (you can tell by the remote preload adjuster) and yes the Moriwaki bikes used stock CCTs

I was told by Roger Ditchfield that the stock CCTs are fine on race bikes as they are more apt to fail during long over-runs or when the bike is left to idle for long periods while on the sidestand, two conditions that race bikes seldom see.

I'd say the reason is also likely to be that on a racebike you regularily tear the engine down and have a look inside, thereby doing the one thing stock Honda CCT's need... Inspection, inspection, inspection and then replacement...

Thanks for posting that picture! That would be very nice....

Say I had one of those for sale, a Stage 2/3 tuned Firestorm race bike from the late 90's, putting out about 150BHP and weighing about 160KGs. (The above is a ST2, judging by the cams)

How much do you think it would be worth?

I know someone will say as much as someone is willing to pay but even in parts it's got to be worth at least 10K USDs?

PS, no I don't have one for sale.. just asking the question....

There was a well built yellow '98 with race prts galore that went for peanuts a year or two ago.
