Looking at 99 SH

Hello,
I am new to the SH world. I have ridden for 16 years, everything from dual sport to cruisers to touring bikes and crotch rockets. I am looking mainly for a good commuter (35mls one way), yet something I can go out and have fun on, along with doing some decent trips. I average 30,000 miles a year. Is this bike that versitile? I have heard many good things, a few bad, and some indifferent. I can pick up this 99 for $3000, with 27,000 miles. Has a few scratches here and there where it went down, nothing major, and no mechanical problems. New tires, brakes, chain, sprocket and oil change. It's 8 hrs away, and the guy assures me he would have no apprehension of riding it home as it sits. Sounds like a decent deal to me, what do you guys think?
Thanks!

The Superhawk has a smallish fuel tank. That's the only one problem that can't be resolved cheaply. Otherwise, the Superhawk can do almost anything you ask of it.

8hrs on a hawk, holy crap, I wouldn't be able to walk or sit for a week...then again I haven't riddin as much as some of you guys....I guess the price would vary depending on your location in the country, and availability.... Is it stock, or have mods? You can buy a brand new 2003 no miles etc...for $5900 certain dealers....Depends on what you want I guess....Good luck, lets us know how it goes....
