Just did 1500 miles on SH, elevation from sea level to 7000 feet

Hi All,
I'm just psyched that the SH handled elevation so well. Spent the last 6 days on her, rode from San Diego to Laughlin for the River Run, by way of Phoenix > Sedona > Flagstaff > Grand Canyon > Route 66. Ran like a champ although idle got a little rough above 5000 feet.

So? Just keep the revs above 6k.

Solved another one.

When I was up at St. Josephs pass at 7241' it ran OK but was way down on power. Couldn't get the front wheel to loft when it'd usually be super easy. Sounds like a great ride!

If the bike never idles, then no rough idle.

Try to keep up.

Well, the answer to your rough idle problem, of course.

Whenever I have a rough idle at certain elevations, I usually just use the cruise control and lock the throttle at 100%, so the engine is bouncing off the rev limiter. Then I just use the brakes to control my speed.

I hope you know we are just messin' with ya. I'm not even sure if this bike has a rev limiter.

I have been to those areas as well, but not on a bike. I would LOVE to cruise around Sadona on my Superhawk!

EDIT: It appears VTR1000F replied a second before me.

Red paint is a rev limiter.
