I'm getting RaceTech springs for free!

I traded a local suspension guy (who's also a gun guy) an old russian SKS for some proper racetech springs, new seals, oil, and set-up!

YAY!

The gun has been collecting dust. I dont have much time to shoot anymore

I'm stoked. Got rid of something taking up space and got some work done to my bike. Win!

Good trade, that old SKS ain't worth squat anyway and you should love how your bike feels afterwards. Of course now you'll need the rear shock....

gonna take care of the rear later :-)

Eventually gonna go the rebuilt F4i shock route, or maybe just have the stock one worked on. My riding on thsi bike will be like, all street with maybe one track day a year

I doubt it. Track days are very addictive I have found.....

My two cents is not to play with the stock shock. Move on up.

I don't know about the stock shock upgrade, but having ridden several thousand miles on JDs F4i race tech mod@6mm ride height, I can say it adds a whole new dimension to the ride/handling quality of the Hawk and it's the probably the best shock for the least cost.

Yeah, the f4i seems to be the route everyone likes.

8541Hawk will become famous soon enough
Well a modified stock shock does work pretty well. The thing is it will normally cost about the same as modifying a F4 shock (and by looking at the info stated on them, they should end up working a little better than the stock unit) which can be picked up for rather cheap.

I will take the other list members word that the modified F4 shocks work very well as i ended up going a different route.
