Ignition Advancer ('99 VTR)

Hello ppl,

Would anyone know where online can I purchase an ignition advancer for a '99 VTR. I looked everywhere online and no online stores have them so far.

I live in Alberta, Canada so if you have an online store in Canada that carries them, that would be great. Or, in the states would be just as good.

Thanks,

Eddie

I've got a brand new Ignition advancer in the package....got lazy and never installed.

I'll sell it to you for $45 US plus shipping from Springfield, MO zip 65804 - you can decide on who ships.

I prefer paypal.

I'll post up pics later

Factory Pro makes them.
$59.95 retail
You may find it cheaper mail order

http://factorypro.com/
It's a frames based web site so I can't direct link to the page.
Start at main page > top left click "Find Your Motorcycle Products" > next page click "Honda" > next page scroll down to "1000" > click "VTR1000 Superhawk, 97 and later H77-clickhere" > scroll down to "Ignition Components"

Just wondering...

I thought the Ignition Advance kits for the SHawk were a pain in the **** because you had to change the ohms to like 490 or something fairly complicated, and once installed, a flat spot would occur at 4k to 5k rpms, actually making output LESS than stock there, and that after all your sweat you'd only achieve a 1 or 2 Hp gain.

No?

1st I had heard that about the flat spot.
May have to raise the needles a notch and/or jet up a little to compenste.
The 4k-5k range is just in and slightly above the transition from idle circuit to needle/jet range.

Resetting the Ohms on the TPS to 490 is no big deal with an ohm meter.
Had to adjust mine when I rejetted the carbs
Went ahead & replaced the TPS bolts with allen head ones.
Some minor elongation of the adjustment holes on the plastic with a 'rat tail' file was easy & gave me adjustment range from 450 to 550 ohms.

The thing that interested me most was a claimed improvement in gas mieage.
Anybody actually see an improvement in MPG????
An increase in power would be welcome too !! hehehe
