idle rpm

idle rpm

can anybody tell me what rpm a 98 superhawk should idle at i just bought the bike on sunday and don't knpw anything about it yet thanks john

I think its 1150 but not 100% on that I keep mine right around there anything below 1100 it somtimes stalls at random anything over 1200 sound like crap...

I've noticed the little random stall as well. Been wondering what it is that causes that. I've got a friend with a Chicken as well and his does it too. Guess it's just the nature of the beast...lol

With no vacuum leaks and the carbs correctly balanced 1K and no stalls.

Generally the stalling is caused by an incorrectly set TPS sensor. If it is still at the factory setting, you need to keep the idle RPMs up a little higher.
