Yup, I ended up buying a 4 cyl bike. I got a mint blue 2004 Yamaha R1. So, the SH is going to end up on the market soon. I just want to ride her a few more miles before i say Goodbye. the reason i did this is because I wanted something for the track without putting too much money into it. I was lookin for a gix 750 but I found the R1 for the same price.
I have to admit, the bike doesn't sound as cool as the SH but the hotbodies exhaust on it is loud and looks stealthy. Pic to come soon.

Well not that the rest of the bike is anything to sneeze at but I'd really like your ENGINE.

Nobody - absolutely nobody says you go out out without a whisper. RCVTR is watching. Man, it's happy wings from here - keep the rubber side down.

Nope, I am 6' tall but I look much bigger in the helmet and suit. I also weigh 230lbs. Damn, I miss that bike. The R1 been collecting parts thru the winter. Dyno time is scheduled. The goal is 160-165 rwhp. Can't wait. It is going to be a beast.

Enjoy your complete lack of torque as you'll need to stay in the 10kRPM range to keep up with SHawks. Ah well.

Yeah, how do you like your R1 so far? It looks freakin shibby dude! Has it given you any problems? How many miles were on hte bike when you picked it up?

Well I picked it up with a blown motor. Rebilt it with everything new, it had a spun bearing from a mechanical overrev. I only put 500 miles on the bike before the cold weather. Midrange is definitely lackingaround town, I would take the SH over it anytime. BUT, as soon as the tach hits 8-9k rpms, MOVEOVER, it is a beast. It is much quicker than the SH. But as a STREETBIKE, I miss my SH. I am working on beefing up the midrange. I already got velocity stacks and a power commander and I will be doing some dyno tuning as soon as I can ride it. Also, I purchased a 1 tooth down front sprocket.

I wouldn't say there is a complete lack of torque because if we did roll ons in 6th gear on the highway, I will hand you your ***. The R1 has a totally wider rpm range. Redline is 13,750 rpms, so the torque is a little spread out. They are two completely different bike. You are comparing apples to oranges. I still miss the low down torque on the SH around the 3-4000 rpms.
