Yup, I ended up buying a 4 cyl bike. I got a mint blue 2004 Yamaha R1. So, the SH is going to end up on the market soon. I just want to ride her a few more miles before i say Goodbye. the reason i did this is because I wanted something for the track without putting too much money into it. I was lookin for a gix 750 but I found the R1 for the same price.
I have to admit, the bike doesn't sound as cool as the SH but the hotbodies exhaust on it is loud and looks stealthy. Pic to come soon.

how much will u be asking? i know a guy who might be interested in a superhawk?
Nope, I am 6' tall but I look much bigger in the helmet and suit. I also weigh 230lbs. Damn, I miss that bike. The R1 been collecting parts thru the winter. Dyno time is scheduled. The goal is 160-165 rwhp. Can't wait. It is going to be a beast.
Well I picked it up with a blown motor. Rebilt it with everything new, it had a spun bearing from a mechanical overrev. I only put 500 miles on the bike before the cold weather. Midrange is definitely lackingaround town, I would take the SH over it anytime. BUT, as soon as the tach hits 8-9k rpms, MOVEOVER, it is a beast. It is much quicker than the SH. But as a STREETBIKE, I miss my SH. I am working on beefing up the midrange. I already got velocity stacks and a power commander and I will be doing some dyno tuning as soon as I can ride it. Also, I purchased a 1 tooth down front sprocket.
I wouldn't say there is a complete lack of torque because if we did roll ons in 6th gear on the highway, I will hand you your ***. The R1 has a totally wider rpm range. Redline is 13,750 rpms, so the torque is a little spread out. They are two completely different bike. You are comparing apples to oranges. I still miss the low down torque on the SH around the 3-4000 rpms.
