How Cold Do You Ride?
I think I've seen this thread before...
Just wanted to know, What is the coldest temperature you ride?
I cut it off @ 50F
(I don't have heated equipment)
I live in Georgia so its a pretty long riding season

50??!! What? Thats not even thicker glove or jacket weather!
Aw man. No one wants to hear my whole long story but I ride when its below zero F. On some skyways at @ 70mph. Rain & 30*, pretty much always.
You should go a little cooler than 50 geesh. Even slightly thicker gloves (or handguards and same gloves) and cuddle duds under jeans and 50 will feel like perfect riding weather. No sweating, bike makes way more power.

I've been in about 20 below in Denver. Roads were dry as a bone and empty, I warm enough clothes on, and REALLY felt like riding. Bike ran great ('01 Spirit 750) even down that low, so why not. But I don't really have a limit, just all depends on how I feel and road conditions.
I've ridden in snow mainly in the mtns of northern NM. No problem on a goldwing. Not sure temp. Now I use a 1 piece First Gear suit, very light weight and toasty for in high 30's low 40's with just a sweatshirt on underneath. Haven't an opportunity to ride the Hawk in snow but think I'll pass
Rode last Saturday morning with some friends. 23 degrees to start and finished about 28. That's Wisconsin. Rode my VFR'r though, wired for heated jacket and it has heated grips. When the salt comes out I'm done.
I did my exam at -1 celsius that was not really fun but do able
but there was salt so i doubt the hawk is gonna see those temps
winter are unpredicteble here last year was great alsmost like a New Zealand north island climate like NZspokes i guess

If the road is icy I don't ride. Otherwise it's fair game. Heated gear is for wussies. But I have a fairly thick warm one piece suit from Firstgear. I do have some pretty cheap gloves but they are fairly thick so they keep my hands fairly warm. Need to get some new wet weather gear.
I got the day off, so it looks like I'm rollin' the bike into the nice and warm basement today.
I used to live in NY, and as long as it was above 0F I would ride (and I didn't have heated gear.. Thermals, normal Shirt, and my leathers [non perferated]) Now I've gotten used to Georgia and 50F is my limit as well
Teretonga in winter
A few of the times I raced at Teretonga, New Zealand (Worlds southernmost race circuit) there was black ice on the track in the shaded bits all day, you took your first couple of sighting laps
REALLY CAREFULLY
, and it didn't get above freezing until about midday...
One of the ones I missed (sadly) the guys were out in slushy 3 inch snow on their race wets. They got photos and everything. I think they only did the laps for the photo op then went to the pub. But still LEGENDARY. "Mate, we're tuff. Not even snow stops us down here! See, photographic evidence!"
On road, I commuted for about ten years on my bikes in Dunedin, New Zealand. Most mornings in winter proper were about zero degrees C.

I just got back from a short ride; it was about 45 degrees F outside. I try to ride once or twice a month during the winter just to keep the bike fresh. It depends a lot on the weather- a sunny weekend day is a mandatory requirement. A minimum of black ice is another. The winter weather here in the Pacific Northwest is fairly mild, fortunately.
I found the quilted liner on a perforated leather jacket can only do so much. I may go back to my nylon jacket and liner, and maybe 10 layers underneath.
I have a hell of a lot of respect for you guys you ride in Northeast winters.

It was below freezing today but the VTR makes great power with the dense air charge. Other bike count for today was zero, I was the only nut out there! Got to grab every "last day" opportunity as the deep freeze is coming...Yuch !!
Stupid snow. Just got 1.5" of the fluffly stuff. Salt trucks were out in full force last night. Bike is now next to the work bench all warm and toasty. If I had a blanket, I would've tucked him in
