HEADLIGHTS ... CAMERA....ACTION ! ! !
hey guys, was thinkin of replacin the light bulb in the front larger headlight. i know, dont fix what aint broke... but still.... wanted to see if you guys know of any good bulbs to pop in there that would make things you know, like natural light, like those cool 7-series BMW car's have. guess it WOULD help a bike since i dont wanna tomahawk over a raccoon.

1. Remove wiring harness (pulls right out)
2. Pull off dust cover
3. Reaching from the clutch-side, squeeze the headlight retainer (the brass thingy) with your thumb and pointer finger, and rotate the retainer towards you
4. Pull out bulb
It's a tight squeeze, but it gets easier everytime you do it again. And yes, I AM talking about the headlight bulb...

Another vote for Luminics. I bought their Ultra Violet bulbs and they are very cool. Much nicer at night than the oem bulb. I used to have to concentrate on what my light was hitting to recognize it. With the Luminics, I don't have to anymore. And the high beam is brighter than s**t. Only $25 for the pair, including s/h. Another plus is that they are the stock wattage.

When you switch to an H4-mount Zenon lamp, I'd advise that you be very careful not to touch the glass of the lamp. Since Zenon lamps get relatively hot, they are more prone than stock lamps are to blow from exposure to oils fom the skin. (Don't ask me how I know.)
By the way, aside from the cool-blue look that the aftermarket H4-mount lamp adds, you'll love the increased range of the headlight pattern--very nice.
cheers,

Re: HEADLIGHTS ... CAMERA....ACTION ! ! !
I was able to order an H4 Super White Xenon for $20.00 from my local dealer. 80/100 watt. The bulb is available in quantity 1.
If you decide to go with more powerful bulb like i did i would make sure you have a good hot battery (if old replace) and have installed a small fan heat sink or just an air transfer heat sink on your Voltage Regulator, otherwise you may cook the $150.00 regulator if you live in the south where it gets very hot in the summer.

I put in a Sylvania Silverstar bulb, and it made a big difference. I believe it uses stock wattage, too, so you don't have to worry about frying your wiring harness.
As for the voltage regulator, I had one fail on me when I was in Daytona for Bike Week last year. I got back, and purchased a new one from my dealer for under a hundred bucks. It was an aftermarket unit though.
