It has begun! G35 HID projector retrofit....
Yeah it's insanely sharp. Flicker is nuts. Should get lots of attention lol.
I saw your two pics you posted on HIDP of the 35w and 55w frosted FX shots. You plan on taking some better night time shots? Which kit company did you go with? If you bought a paired kit...wanna sell me the extra boosted balllast lol?
I will probably go boosted ballast and DL50 after I buy my leathers.
Hey hak, how did you seal up the rear of that headlight around the projector? Does the stock rubber boot work or is it too long?
Reason I'm asking is that I just got a hold of a set of identical projectors...
Altough mine are from an UK car and has the CE mark (making it atleast feasible to get them through vehicle inspection)... plus I avoided the hassle of getting them through customs...
I'm sitting here with all the parts and fiddling... My initial thought was to have the ballast (matching set) mounted to the rear of the headlight, with the cable inside, like on the g35... It's not going to work though, not enough room... But the ballast seems weather proof enough, so I'll find a space for it...
Oh, btw, since the morons making this stuff used red wire for both wires on the solenoid, which is ground? and if I try it and have the polarity wrong does it harm the solenoid? The ballast is a bit more obvious with black and green, and my guess is black as ground?

Ok, I found the answear to some of my q's at the hidplanet forums... Still having some problems with the bulky bulb socket though...
Here is what I got this far...

The white is a template for a shield, and so far everything fit's, it's just that the wire of the bulb sits at the rim of the "tube" in the back, need to trim that and find a new way of sealing it up...
The reason for the bulky aluminium plate is that it fit's the stock bolt holes for the adjustment screws... (had to replace the bolts to find working nuts though...) With this I can aim the projector like the stock bulb...
BTW let me know if you wan't me to bugger of and make my own thread...
