Happy V-J Day
Happy V-J Day
If you don't know what it is, you probably owe it to your grandpa to look it up.

Really cool video. Thanks.
BTW, early in the video there is a shot of traffic and a building with window awnings on the right side of the frame and there is the sound of a motorcycle revving. That building (formerly a newspaper office and printing facility) now houses the sound stages for the current Hawaii 5-0.

V-J Day was a big one. If the Japanese hadn't surrendered, the war would have gone onto Japanese soil with huge losses on both sides.
We owe those who served during WWII more than can be expressed in words.

Thanks for sharing that. Have to admit that, even though I served for four years myself and know what "V-J" stands for, I didn't have a clue as to what the date actually was. Those guys and gals definitely had something worth celebrating.
It will be 70 years, this coming December 7th, since the original Day of Infamy and our entry into World War II. Thank you for remembering, RK1.
