Whoever is in the picture, he ought to get slapped upside o' the head: Ride with no helmet? Fine. Put a 2-year-old up there with you? Flaming idiot.

I was kinda hoping he was just sitting on the bike, but i think you're right, he's riding. I have a 2 year old myself and would never even consider doing something so stupid! And good luck getting $5k. It would be hard enough to get $3k.

He's probably riding at about 5 mph in front of his house for the photo. I did the same thing with my son when he was about that age. Last time I checked he was still alive.
Lighten up Safety *****.

5mph from that height ... doesn't take much. But you're right: it's his / your kid, not mine.

So I thought the 5k price tag was crazy. Honestly though the picture with the kid doesnt bother me that much. Children are indestructable anyways. Unless you blow them up that is.

It is a little upsetting he let the kid ride the bike himself at that age. how does he know his 2 year old is responsible enough to not do wonton wheelies.

It's amazing what people expect to get sometimes. I love the craigslist ads that are a month old and still say, "Hurry on this one, won't last long...."

And it's got tons of sex appeal! Way I'm going, I need at least a few tons minimum.

I'm with you. A motorcycle dealer roughly seven miles from Gulfport, FL (where the over-priced yellow VTR in question is located) sold a pristine 2005 VTR1000 (Titanium with powder-coated wheels) with only 6,800 miles for $4500.

The same dealership is selling a super-clean and unmolested yellow 2002 VTR with only 20,000 miles for $3995.

Private owner NADA resale value is always lower than dealer resale value. (This is understandable, as dealerships have to pay light bills and they have to pay the kid who washes and moves the bikes in-and-out-of overnight storage.)

"Gee, Honey: I tried to sell the motorcycle, but there were just no takers!"

---------
cheers,
Professor Chaos
