Fuel drip?

Rode for about 30 or so miles yesterday, and stopped somewhere and smelled fuel. theres a little nipple straight down from the fuel petcock that had a small drip now and then, and was ending up on the rear exhaust pipe outta the motor. went straight home, and it wasn't leaking when I got there. is my valve getting ready to crap out, or was it just cause the tank was full and it was warm? wasn't real excited about it dripping on the exhaust.
Looked in the manual and it doesn't show any hose on it.

Thumper is an unknown quantity at this point
If you have had your tank of before double check the two larger fule lines are on all the way. Easiest way to do this is take the two front bolts out, crab a roll of duct tape or something similar and lift the tank up and prop the duct tape roll on top of the air box to balance the tank. Leave the rear bolt in place. Then check that the lines are on all the way.

I have seen the petcock valve go bad on other bikes and allow fuel to seep out around the area where you turn the valve on and off with a wrench.

I recently had a tear in the petcock diaphragm and it did exactly what you're describing. I never noticed any on the exhaust however, but mines all wrapped up so maybe I just couldn't see it. I let it go for a little while but eventually the valve wouldn't open enough and it was starving the motor of gas. There shouldn't be a hose on it because it is just a vent to allow the diaphragm to work.

Time to rebuild the petcock. Replacement parts are available for about $30.
