first spring ride!
Swapped in the vfr bars, slipped in the K&N, changed the R/R, Hooked up the battery and went for a ride! Hit 60 today and the sun was out for a bit - last week it was 13 and the snow was blowin...
Almost spring in upstate NY!
Anyone else start riding yet in the snowbelt?

Today I rode for the first time this year! Living in Minnesota sucks!
There have been one or two nice days, but there was still a ton of snow and ice on the road.
Today the roads were clear enough to go out for a nice ride. The bank right next to the gas station said the temp was 33F

Been riding for 3 weeks now almost nonstop. Only 4 days above 40 though, so it can be cold. Broke out the leathers one day, and the perforation was a little too good. Back to the wind/waterproof gear unless it gets to mid 50's. Amazing how slippery it can be at 30, and yet how sticky it starts to get in the 50's and up.
In my mind, it's riding season even if I have to freeze my tail off for the next month or so. Plus, I find riding in that 2 to 3 foot strip of clean road between the gravel and the painted line really improves my riding come spring. That and cold tires keep me alert and careful. Anybody else use this as training?

Did not start Spring out right....
took my 2000 out last weekend, picking carefully through the gravel at the end of my street from the snow plows. Took off carefully, next thing I recall is picking myself off the pavement, dazed, people stopping... crap. No memory of what happened, but I assume there was gravel on the tire and rear end broke loose, even under a light throttle. I messed up the left side pretty good, rashed up my helmet, but I had armored gear on, and I am sure that saved me quite a bit of grief. If I had worn the boots, I might have avoided the sprained ankle too, but its healing.
Rode this thing on one good ride last Fall, after I "rebuilt it" from the PO's damage, doing the SAME thing. Don't ever think it can't happen to you!

She takes comfort in the knowledge that there's a back rest behind her.....though in actuality I don't think she even leans into it very often.....in terms of the comfort factor, Corbins are pretty hard seats by design and her tush gets a bit sore after a while but that's also because she doesn't ride on the back very often.......this was her first ride on the back since last August......that's ok, our passenger rides are generally limited to ~150 miles or less anyway.....
She'd rather ride her own bike......the one with two wheels too many (Quad)

You're Damn Right!
Well, I'm admittedly VERY biased but you're damn right!!!.......seems to me that there aren't too many other wives/mothers out there that (1) still look that good at age 50+, (2) are still willing to hop on the back of a sportbike at age 50+ and (3) like to haul *** across the desert on a 350cc 2-stroke Banshee at age 50+......so yeah, I'm a lucky guy ....Ok, I'm also a bit of but really, it's all true .......and if she ever sees that I stated "50+" three times in one post I'm a dead man!

Who's 50? I would've guessed 35.
I've been riding all winter here, except for some unordinary rain in January. Froze my *** off yesterday though in 40 degree weather going through Temecula.

I pretty much ride all year long with the occasional two to three week gap due to weather. The coldest that I rode in this year was 28 degrees. That kinda sucked!
+1 on the hot chick that still rides!
