I will do my best to make it, but am quite sure I will not be able to do more than a 3 day weekend.
The houses you mention are pretty nice. A good way to go if you have a decent sized group.
As for me, I'll likely do my normal thing:
camp in a tent a The CROT.

Hope to see you there!

wow so the $120 is for the week, that is a freaking steal....I might be able to do more than 3 days, that is if I don't have a real job by then..LOL

Now to get 15 folks to jump in...and heck I will even Volunteer to cook one night, I kick a mean grill....

Ok, so now this happens....

There is a distinct possibility I won't be able to make this, but if I'm not off in training I'll definetly get this in the hopper for taking leave. The Dragon for a week? And I get to hang out with a bunch of other VTR guys? [crosses fingers]

Great ! I have got 5 months to try to convince my wife that Deals Gap is a safe place to ride. So I can try to go for at least a few of the days !

Well there have been some changes, but I will know for sure by thurs if I can make it, and if I can make it I may not be on a superhawk....hmmm

I am going to see if I can get a few others around here to join us....

You know this is conflicting with the Myrtle Beach Bike week....

I'm tempted, but Mapquest tells me that's about a 24 hour ride from here. Hrm.

Right now? Yeah. Between the two storms around Christmas, there's still a foot of snow around, even with the sun. The plows didn't get into my neighborhood before the roads got seriously snowpacked, either.

But I'm pretty sure it'll melt by May...

Myrtle Beach bike week sucks. I did it once and I'll never do it again. Just a bunch of posin' squids on lowered, extended, chromed out Busas and GSX-Rs. I hated it. All the roads are flat there and the cops will be out in massive force.

But hey, I guess I'm biased...

You're in! Ever ride the Catskills? Maybe we could meet up sometime this spring. I was looking at Mapquest and it's a nice ride down Hwy 30. We could meet somewhere around 30 and 17.

Youve got to love a map where you don't recognize a thing on it...usually means its too far away.

Due to my wonderful work schedule, I won't be able to attend. I will be heading that direction the 19th-22nd for the Hoot if anyone will be there, maybe we can hook up. Let me know.....

I'll be there but I would recommend staying away from the gap that week as it's nothing but a sea of goldwings from CROT to the overlook

I am going with the local group here next month, from what I hear there are tons of great roads around there...I know there are some amazing roads leading up to it, as we have been close on several rides...I logged just over 300 miles yesterday, all twisties...NC is good for something...

Thanks for the info. I have yet to ride the Dragon, nor have I been to the Hoot before, so the week will be pretty full just taking in everything. Signed up for two rides....Ride to Roan Mountain and Cumberland Gap Ride. Like I said, never been there, so don't know if these will be worthwhile or not, but gonna give 'em a try.

how much were the rides? If anything I can save you some cash and look up the routes and go ride them with you, work permitting of course.

Yeah, I really like North Ga. This whole area has a ton of roads I have yet to tap into. Usually once I find a few good ones I tend to stay where the crowds aren't.

The stars are aligning, so I'm back in on this. My regular crew's Memorial Day weekend ride ran out of steam & my VSO is onboard.

Riding down Fri. 6/8. Riding home Wed. 6/13. (You still planning to stay a couple extra days, Greg?)

They were $18 each, including lunch and a couple extras.....not sure what those are yet. Already paid for in package tho......but thanks. Maybe we could hook up and ride some other good roads if you are off. I will be there Tuesday night for the registration, then leave Friday morning. Also, where is a good, cheap local campground to pop a tent that wouldn't be far from the festivities? I want to hit the vendors and do some demos just to see what the new bikes are like, even tho I know the Hawk is a bike that would be hard to replace in my stable, just wanna see what's there.
Thanks!

Looks like I might be in country for this after all. No promises though, if I attend it will be a last minute thing. Sorry I can't give a firm yes or no, I'm for sure going to try though.
