SuperHawk is the USA name while FireStorm was used pretty much everywhere else. There are some minor differences but the biggest one IMO was a larger tank in the later years.

Canada got the Firestorm until 2005 when ours too became Superhawks. That being said, we never got the larger 19L tank, however, so there are exceptions to what Bling said. On the whole, however, they are the same bike.

are some common ones used.

Back to the difference question. If you are mainly concerned about performance differences they are the same. Non-US/English bikes have metric based instrumentation.

Yes, it's a direct bolt on, yes, the colors are the same... BUT....

It doesn't state what year, ie it's a 50-50 chance it's the same size as the one you have now...

And even tho the tank bolts on, you need the petcock ans some other bits from the new model tank...

Actually the best way to know ALL the differences... look it up in the service manual stickied here on the site... in all the parts where there are a difference in years 97-00 & 01-> there are two schematics and detailed info on differences...

Killemall,

I haven't tried that tank conversion yet, but I don't think it's plug and play and depends on the model year of your bike too. The mods would probably be worth the trouble though and even if you decided not to tackle it you could surly sell that larger tank Stateside!

Good luck bro

01 and later Europe Fire Storm's have the 19ltr tank. Honda made use of space under the tank so there is no difference in looks but the need for a different petcock. Its a plug and play swap. If you find two buy them and sell me one! Good luck

Thanks a lot for the replies! I emailed the guy asking him what year the tank is. If it's an '01 or later I will go for it. For that price I think it will be worth it even if it will take some mods to fit it on my SH. I'll keep you updated.
