Do you know this particular bike? Researching it's history.
Hi All,
I am looking to purchase a 1999 Superhawk.
Ad states it has 17,000 with no mechanical issues. Before I go out and look at it I thought I would ask in this forum if anyone knows this particular bike (previous owner maybe).
Location is in LA county CA.

When buying such a thing, I try to block out all prior advertised info, speculation, propaganda, or promises about the item. When you get there, try to focus only on the item in front of you.
Forget the image the seller has tried to paint, reset any preconceived notions, and inspect in a new light before you lay down money.
Oh, and bring a mechanic friend.
But what you are doing here is a pretty good idea actually. Researching.

I've seen it pop up on the LA craigslist over the last few weeks
I think its a mish mash bike, possibly a spare jscobey used for his track bike that had its engine blow up this time last year. He was in Thousand Oaks which is where I think this bike is located

I ended up with his Ohlins
He had a street VTR and a track VTR but has since sold or parted them out I believe
