So once again for the zillionth(approx) time I have to thank God I made it home without incident.

I was exactly coasting distance from home when I went for a shift to find no shifter. At first I thought of the recent bolt tighning post.

When I got home I found the shift arm that is on the shaft actually broke! Man that would have been a long night if it happened anywhere along my ride except there.

Can only be thankful.

When I fitted my rear sets the nut on the shift rod came loose and I was stuck in third gear.

Took me a while to figure it out.

Tightened and it has never happened again but I now check it all the time.

Bloody dangerous when trying to downshift for a tight corner and nothing happens.

Could of been a disaster, that's why I regularly check bolts and nuts on the beast after most rides.

I had that happen a few years back. I was about an hour or so from home on the highway and realized the shifter wasn't there. Thankfully it was late at night and a straight shot home and only one time had to feather the clutch from a slow roll in 6th on the off ramp... Got home and thankfully it was dangling by the rod and I hadn't lost it altogether.

Hey kenmoore, does everyone else's avatar show upside down to you? That's awesome.

No Erik, #2 just snapped at the bottom hiem joint. Pretty sure locktite would not have helped much.

Already bought one on ebay. Will pillage the one off my show bike in the meantime.

Captain,

No one else's shows upside down.

After all Oz is down under so to speak!

Don't know how that happened but it's kinda grown on me.

Tried to fix it but gave up.
