Crazy Superhawk in Stockbridge MI!

My dad and I went to a show/event/get-togther in Stockbridge, MI and I saw the most unique Superhawk I'v ever seen! i didnt have my camera so i took the pics with my cellphone...

It was a great event. All the clubs from the area were there.. Every kind of bike, from old to new! My dad even picked-up a 1971 SL350 (his first bike in highschool). Definatly going back next year!!

WOW!! The owner welded its own custom tubular frame and totally redesigned the front suspension in Bimota style. That's the most hardcore mod I've ever seen on a SH.

Hmm it looks he took some RC51 stuff and modded it for the Hawk.....Not to mention the frame which is interesting.

That's pretty wild, as long as he was going through all that work I wonder why he didn't do Tesi front end?

Looks like a Hossack front end to me.

Norman Hossack designed a whole series of front ends and frames to try to get rid of the problems with front suspension dive under braking, and to get some lateral stability through corners.

One or two of his designs were very successful in British road racing in the early 80s, from memory.

[Edit] Yep, I've now just read the little write-up. It's a lot more Hossack than Britten; John B was much keener on using carbon fibre than steel tube, though his early bikes did have welded steel tube fronts. And the Brittens' rear suspension was run along under the motor.

Holy ****! It's amazing what folks will build in their garage. And yes I do have to ask "why?" But while I think it's kinda funky looking it certaining is way beyond my shitty skill level

i would like it without the fairings, they dont flow and look half-assed compared to the rest of the bike.

I think this is just one more take on the front end transplant.

What's unique about this is this guy builds his own replacement. Frabricates it and at the end of the day chuckles at us , "because he can."

I admire people like this. Genius is under appreciated in our society.

But at the end of my day, I want to know is it that much better than ?

Yea, I wonder that too. Personally I don't care for the look. If he got rid of the farings, maybe it would look really cool....seeing all the tubing. Iwould like to know how it handles.
