Could really use some help if anyone can...

I dropped the spring out of my petcock and I have been searching for about an hour now... I can't find it anywhere! I may need a replacement, and I was just going to grab one from the hardware store... but I need some measurements... if anyone could help that would be great.

It's ok it was a stupid mistake but I found it. However I do have a petcock question, I know it should not be on the one pointing down, but it seems like my petcock was put back together incorrectly, and it seems to run the same on both... so should it be the one all the way on the back? no matter which way it is facing... mine was facing down, now it's sideways.

Have a pic? As luck would have it my tank is on the garage floor right so I can give it a look when I get home.

it may run the same for a short time on either, but that will typically change down the road.

the one facing down remains open, i.e., no hose attached. the one facing to the left(close to the underside and running parallel to the underside of the tank), on the left, pointing to the left side, in line with the left fuel line, is the one that gets the vacuum line that travels along with the left fuel line.

thanks, Nathan

Well like I said, I already know it should be the one parallel to the ground, what I'm saying is that you can reassemble it several different ways. They are perfectly square, and there is nothing that prevents them being put back together in any direction.

This is how it was when I got the bike. Notice the one on back points down.

When I put it back together this seemed like how it should be... notice the one on back now points sideways... Which one is correct?

Well that really doesn't matter, like I said, I'm only concerned with WHICH nipple it needs to be on. I don't care about direction. Somebody just say "the nipple on the back" or "not the nipple on the back"
