cooling fan issues

good day to everyone here, My first time here ty, ty, lol, newayz i just purchased an '02 superhawk 996 everything seems fine on it 'cept the cooling fan wont kick in temps hit 194 deg. the fuse seemed good still, ne ideas? ne help is appreciated

It won't kick on till 215-220 degrees. If it gets that hot and still doesn't turn on then you have problems.

Ground the temp sensor wire,,, if all is well the fan will kick in,, if not, check the fan power and ground wire..

I wonder if the contact between the sensor and the wire plug end is good.

Same symptom with mine, fixed by cleaning to sensor male and wire female leads.

Cooling fan issues in Hawaii

Hi, I saw offroadrider2008's problems and answers. I have the same issue. Fan won't kick in. = (
All my fuses under the seat are good. (I don't know of any fuses elsewhere??) I checked the sensor at the switch, and cleaned the male and female leads.
I do not know how to "ground" a wire.
- Clueless in HI.

Turn on the ignition, take the wire off the temp sensor at the radiator, touch it to metal of the radiator - the fan should turn on as you have just provided the ground... Basically this is what the temp sensor does when it reaches its set temperature.
