clutchless upshifting
Back to the original question........
Ever since 1987 when my Dad (a mechanic) taught me to ride that bike. He taught me to clutch shift like normal.
After I had shifting down pat. He told me to try it without the clutch and showed me the technique.
I've hardly used a clutch to upshift from that point on.
As long as the bike has a constant mesh transmission. Clutchless upshifts do not harm the transmission.
It may harm the clutch basket if you miss time it.
But you can miss time a lot of shifts before you actually feel any problem with the clutch.
Go ahead, don't be afraid. It's made to it.
