close call

I had a scary close call this morning. I went for a spin thru la Honda to Skyline via hwy 84. Great road not a lot of traffic, pavement in decent condition, wheeeee! But, I had a very close call with a deer getting up close and deadly. Ran right out in front of me whilst I was in the apex of the curve and committed. All I could think of to do was try to outrun the damn creature. The Hawk did it, just. My leathers might be ruined beyond cleaning, but I didn't hit it. Slowed me right down, my heart in my throat and my eyes are stuck open wide and bulging out . Damn close call.

a very good friend of mine totaled his SH when he hit a deer some years ago. It was really a mess. He's ok now but he spent some time in hospital.

I hit a deer, but only in the hoof, chipped my paint on the fender. Thank God only that.

Hey my buddy used to live in Bentonville (surprisingly had the Walmart acct for his company ) I visited him a few times & always wanted to ride in the Ozarks.

I hit a opossum the other day when cresting a hill. He shot right out popped me at least a foot in the air with both wheels. Talk about scary shizznit. landed and surprisingly prevented the high side wobble after landing slightly sideways. Thank god it was in a straight and not in a corner.

2 things scare me the most on my bike. Getting rear ended at a stop and **** crossing my lane.

Glad you made it out unharmed and I certainly know the feeling afterwards.

I made it the next mile or so to Alice's Restaurant and stopped, had a cool drink, (non alcoholic) and counted my blessings. That really scared the hell outta me!
