hey man. i don't know how those Wileyco cans are put on because it's hard to see in the picture but it's usually just some basic clamps, gaskets and stuff. I installed a slip-on system on mine and it was pretty easy. Check out
www.bikebandit.com to see an diagram of how the stock system goes on and the parts that are involved. Just look up the Superhawk under OEM parts and then check under muffler.

I have a set of stock mufflers too that I'd be more than willing to let u take off my hands!

First.... why don't you ask the dealership to start that bike up and judge for yourself how loud it is compared to the one you rode?

Second, putting the stock cans back on shouldn't be a big deal should you need to, you can find them pretty easily on EBAY or this site. You can probably sell the Wileyco's as well and make a little bit.

As for the price, it seems a bit steep for a 02.... I'd again check sites like Autotrader and EBAY to get an idea of what comparible bikes are going for... I believe I've heard of poeple getting brand new leftovers in the 6K range.

If you generally feel good about the bike, buy it. The concern about the cans is minor. These could be welded on but removing them is easy. As long as the mid/head pipes haven't been cut on, the stock cans will just clamp on with a little cleaning in that area.

As for the price of this bike, too high of course. Depends on your negotiating skills if you decide to go forward. I personally like playing that game. The dealership took the bike in on a trade thus giving its previous owner nothing + they probably sold him/her another bike at Honda's horrible interest rate. So they've already made money. They don't want a four year old bike sitting in inventory so they want to deal. Don't be concerned if the dealer makes a profit or not. That isn't your concern. Always look out for numero uno, because they certainly are.

Based on that zip code in Lumberton, NADA prices this bike as $4,035.00 average retail, $5,310.00 high retail.

Kelly Blue Book has retail value in Lumberton at $5,710.00 and the trade-in value at $3,935.00.

Quite a spread in values. If that bike is in great shape, I would offer $4k as the starting point and go from there. Comes down to how much you want this bike and how much you want to pay.

Looks like he either bought it or waited too long, it's sold. You may not of wanted it anyway, I magnified the picture and the exhaust looks like it was welded on. If the po welded the mid pipes on who knows what else they might have F'd up. Did you buy it?

That's amazing, I have a 2002 Super Hawk and I have 26,000 miles on it. I guess some people just don't ride their bikes very much.
