Can we put this to bed? (cct's)
I've searched over and over trying to get a definite answer about the cam chain tensioners.
Most people seem to think that later VTR's have had an updated CCT put on them from the factory.
But no one knows for sure.
I have a 2005 VTR and don't know if it's got an upgraded CCT or not.
I have a white paint dot on the tensioner. Does that mean anything?
I'm nearing 27,000 km on the bike and if it needs cct's I'll do it over the winter.

I think it all comes down to 2 things. First, do you have any clattering? Second, will it make you sleep better at night? Mine clattered when the bike got hot so I replaced them with APEs.

Even if I've got old tensioners, I'll still sleep fine at night.
If it blows up, I can always take it apart and fix it. No big deal.
I don't really ride it that hard. The hardest I've been on the bike was on the Cherihola Highway. Was keeping it reved around 7,000rpm for a few hours.
I don't see red line but a few times a year.
I ride hard, but I'm easy on my equipment.
