brake mod, need some guidance
im a little torn with what i want to do. my vtr already stops great, k6 radial master, galfer lines, hh pads, 320 mm ebc rotors and gsxr 750 calipers. but ive got a 19x20 brembo master. and being a heavier bike im all for having it stop better. im still on the fence with what i want to do with my kawi track bike project. im not sure if its staying or going or what. being a lighter bike and a track only bike, wont be raced competetivly, im not sure if i should put the brembo on the vtr which will get lots of street duty vs a few track days a year on the kawi, and then put my radial master on the kawi and call it a day, or should i leave my bike alone and put the brembo on the lighter kawi. what would you guys do if in my situation? kawi is a 98 zx6r.
Well the only question I would ask is does the kawi have 4 piston calipers?
If so, I don't think you would like the Brembo on there. The 18X20 work great in that application but the 19X20 just doesn't have a good "feel" IMHO.
So I would run the Brembo with the 6 piston calipers & the K6 master on the kawi.

the kawi is still running the junk 6 pistons, im looking for a 4 piston upgrade but cant get a solid answer on the kawi boards as to what will fit. my vtr has 4 piston gixxer 750 calipers on it.
so run the k6 from my vtr on the kawi when it gets 4 pistons and then put the brembo on the vtr?

so what about when i swap 4 pistons onto the kawi? should i use the k6 radial master on it as its a significantly lighter bike or should i use the brembo as itll be a track only bike and every little bit of extra braking force might help.
sorry about that, the 750's are 4 pots

Well then you would have to decide if you want more power or more feel on the track.
The brembo will give you the most braking power but with a slightly wooden feel to it.
The K6 master will have less overall power but with its better feel you might actually be able to brake harder with it.
So now that I reread my reply, I guess the best answer is I have no answer....lol
You'll have to try them out on each bike see where you like them best.

I very much agree to the wooden feel to that 19x20 master. I had it briefly on my hawk and it had no progressive feel to it. It was like stop all at once instead of slowing. Uchi, did you ever figure out how to mount the resivoir cup and a brake light switch?
resevoir wont be an issue ill make a bracket for it, or do what the guys who race do and just fill a tube with brake fluid so that if i crash i dont smash the cup, and my buddy said hooking up a switch for brake lights wouldnt be an issue after he looked at it. so if it goes on the street bike thats the direction itll take. i have a feeling ill just run it on the kawi just to be on the safe side. although i was offered a trade for a 19x18 which im considering
