Battle axe tires? Pros-cons?

OK i think i am going to settle for a set of battle axe tires for my first set on the new SH. Any pros or cons of going the Bridgestone route?

There are lots of different Battlax tires with different applications. I have the BT-016s and they are very sticky and confidence inspiring for street use.

+1 on the BT-016. They perform excellent and they cost less than comparable tires from other brands.

Cant really say anything bad about them. The sides will wear if your really pushin it. But that's what they're designed to do.

bt-teens ( various versions ) have ZERO feedback when pushed. OK in the wet & probably a good touring tire. i haven't ran the newest (non-oem)
tire so i can comment if they are any better.

BT-016 are the stock tire for the 09 CBR1000RR. Getting good reviews.
For a 2 compound front, 3 compound rear, they are inexpensive.
$134 for the rear on http://www.parts411.com/acbasp/store...-P92537C0.aspx

To answer your question 5150, a low side is when the bike falls and it is in front of you, you are on the low side. A "high side", well, you look like superman flying off the higher side of the bike.

CycleGear has a couple sales each year. I got my BT016's in October for $214 the pair, shipped. I like 'em so far.

The 16's got an excellent review in the recent SportRider tire comparo. The only tires to finish higher (and just slightly) were the Michelin Pilot Powers but they cost quite a bit more too.

I love my 16's. Any tire that lets me endo into turns is fine by me. The 21's are great for mileage, ~8k out of a rear is not uncommon. Mileage for the 16 rear is looking like it will be done right around 5k.
