Aprilia RSV Factory....where to buy one?

I've decided on my next bike-

It will be a 2005 or later Aprilia RSV Factory.

It's similar to our Hawks but has more power, ohlins suspension and a more agressive setup. Similar to an RC51 but a little better.

Let me know if you guys know of one for sale.
I'll put my Hawk for sale cheap when I find one.

Nice....but I want the black.

I want the "Black Lion" color scheme.
Aprilia Aprilia | eBay

Ron Ayers Honda has one on Ebay above.

I am on the Central Coast of California ( San Luis area).
I would buy the Ayers one...but...I want to hand the money over and test ride it first.

Now can anyone really say they don't like the looks of that bike?
It's a Superhawk riders dream.

not a little better, it's a whole new ballgame. Looks awesome, yes, and that's only the tip of the magnificence.

Blasphemy!!!!
How dare to say that

Aprilia is a good bike, may be better than the hawk but it is not like RC51.
If you search the net you will see that SP1 is the better for the track and real riding

now seriously, hope you find a good bike

you ain't talking "factory" here. i believe you're referring to the mille. Quite a different animal. Not to diminish the rc, but I'd choose the factory w/o equivocation.

^^ What he said. No way I would choose an RC51 over an 05+ RSV Factory. Come to think of it, I wouldn't choose an RC51 over an 05+ RSV.

I owned an Aprilia Falco for a few years. Now THAT bike was a Superhawk rider's dream. I did not sell it because I wanted to, that's for sure. You're heading the right direction, Matt.

Guys,

Look at the 05+ Factory specs.
It IS a completely different ballgame from the Hawk or RC.
These bikes are $22k NEW.

Don't get me wrong. I love the Hawk which is why I bought one a month ago.
My focus now is taking the beautiful V-Twin sportbike to the next level.
Sorry but the Hawk will never be at this level. I want an Aprilia for the 5% of the time when I need it maxed out...and the Hawk can't give it.

The Hawk is a brilliantly simple, fun and inexpensive road bike....period.

Imagine the Maintenance costs though... Not just the price but finding a good easy to find dealer.

Not as bad/hard as a Benelli though.

Yep...I am trying. Sent him a PM since there's no number.
2007.5 RSVR Factory - MINT - Fully serviced! - $8500 - ApriliaForum sponsored by AF1 Racing, inc.

This is going to take careful horse trading. I am short just a bit.
So, If this goes through I will put a deposit down and be forced to dump the hawk. Don't want to get too excited yet.

I am not selling this Hawk cheap unless this is a done deal. My Hawk is Cherry with only 9k miles and everything done. If this DOES go through, someone else is getting a hell of a buy on the SH.

I have no problems riding the Hawk.

that thing makes my tongue hard, and the price is righteous. I mean why do these people buy awesome bikes that many would die for, put a shitload of upgrades on em and then turn around and give them away. Fickle ******* i guess. Anyway, you win. Break a leg bud.

Haha!

This is still all speculation at this point. Who knows what will happen.
That Aprilia doesn't get any better though.
I can't believe it's still up.

Here's a RSV1000R....not a Factory...but 400 miles!
It's an Aprilia show bike up in the Bay Area.
Why are these bikes so cheap?

It's like most luxury cars. high initial cost but resale while being decent takes a MUCH larger hit % wise compared to a "normal" vehicle.

...yes the resale sucks. The motor is a Rotax. I used to have a plane with one. Great engine.

Here's the Bol Dor paint scheme. The one above in the Bay Area has this.
I think it looks freakin' awesome.
What do you think?

1) He doesn't want any bank or paypal funds transfer....only a money order. He says he will send photos of the title.

2) The bike came from Hawaii by boat to San Diego then trucked to Massachusetts. It is not registered in any state. There are no emission stickers. In California, we have a 7500 mile used bike rule. Unless it has all these Emission stickers and original equipment then you can't register it until it hits that mileage.

These two things are big hurdles...especially #1. I'm not comfortable sending anything not guaranteed. I am NOT implying anything though.

Does anyone have a carfax account? I was wondering if I can get a VIN check.

VIN is: ZD4RRTR027S000585

Be careful about getting taken. Not uncommon to see bikes posted on Cycletrader that seem too good to be true. When you try to buy there's a sob story followed by a promise to send this and that. Have the bike checked by a MA Aprilia dealer taht will stand behind the inspection (no dead clocks, instrument cluster, toasted valves, etc). If he wants to sell he should be willing to split the inspection bill with you.

Look for that bike on Ebay for the last few months to make sure someone hasn't just copied someones bike add and re-posted it under a different name. Just sending you a VIN number doesn't mean it is legit. Not trying to scare you off but do check carefully. Good luck.

Don't take this as me saying I wouldn't rather have the aprilia in any way, but I'm more keen on the aesthetics of our superhawks better... especially from a side profile. That thing's got a real busy frame/plastics setup...

I was sitting on a curb looking at the SH from the rear right side and i agree on the aesthetics. That said, after i get one of those factory aprilias ripping through the turns just one time, it's likely to look a lot lot lot better.
