ANYONE TRIED SHINKO TIRES

Hi Out there,
Has anyone used Shinko Raven 009 tires on their SH? Or any Shinko tires for that matter. I have had them on my Yamaha FJR1300 for about 2,ooo miles with good results. They are priced right and the supplier that I bought them from provided fast shipping. I am no racer but a "spirited' rider.
Any experience that you have would be helpful. Thanks!

I just mounted a Shinko 005 front (intermediate compound) on my '99 ZRX1100 yesterday. The 009 Raven rear will be here late today and I'll mount it tomorrow on my NoMar tire changer. The front mounted easily-especially compared to the various Pirellis and Metzlers I'd used previously. Took minimal weight to balance. At $156.00 delivered per pair I thought I'd give them a look.

Where did you find them at that price?

RideNow.com delivered a 120/70zr17 and a 170/60zr17 for $156.38. Would have been a few cents under $150.00 if I didn't have to pay $6.50 in tax because they have an outlet in the state.

I have shinko's on my bike. It's the first tire I use on my bike as the bike came with battleaxe's on it with major chicken strips. I have no complaints. I'll keep up with my buddies gsxr750 in turns and when he's not paying attention I'll pass him. Never a second thought about trackion. And I payed only $115 for them here.

Hey fellas,
Sorry for bringing back an old thread, but wanted to know if anyone cared to update their experiences with shinko tires.

I just bought a shinko 005 rear today to replace my worn down one.
Now everyone seems to have their own opinion...very strong too. haha
I personally have had great success with Shinko tires! They last, are cheap, warm up quick, and stick to the ground.
My buddy Kevin is currently running Pilot Powers on his Busa, to replace his shinkos, and wants to go back.
I've talked to a few guys who have had bad luck with them...warping and such...but every one of them I come to find out are running stretched and lowered b***h machines. (No offense to anyone who likes those kind of bikes)

Cool.. thanks for the reply blue... Are the 005's used for sport touring, or are those the 007's? i can't remember if that's right... but I know they make a sport touring tire. I cant' justify spending 200 bucks every 5k miles to replace tires....

Shinko currently offers the "003" for track days and drag racing, the "005" intermediate compound, the "006", and the "009" Raven sport touring tire. All are "W" speed rated (168mph). Since I mounted the "005" front and "009" rear on my ZRX1100 I've installed a pair of "009's" on my '02 FZ-1. For street riding I have absolutely no complaints. I have a set of "009's" waiting in the shop to be mounted on the SuperHawk when the "Stradas" wear out. They mount more easily than many other brands I've tried and they've taken minimal weight to balance. I can't offer an opinion on longevity yet but if they're roughly equivalent to other big name brands I'll be highly satisfied- especially when I can purchase two rears and a front for the price of one rear and one front from Michelin, Metzler, Pirelli, Avon, Dunlop.

Haven't tried Shinko yet, but last week I bought a Dunlop D220 180/55zr17 at Cycle Gear for $99.99...they should still be running the special
