Anyone familiar with the RSV 1000R?

I wondering how the riding position on the Aprilia compares to the Super Hawk.

There's a 2002 RSV Mille R on the local craigslist that I'm interested in, but there's no sense checking it out if the riding postion is ala Ducati 1098, etc...I'm only good for a little more than an hour on the VTR, and that's with GenMar risers installed.

The bike looks good in the ad, just over 10k miles, recent full service and new Pirellis...it has no apparent mods and the asking price is $5,800.00.

Also, what's the reliabiltiy like for these bikes?

I'd say it's about the same category as the 1098/RC51 and others yes... Altough once you are in the saddle time stops and you can go longer than you though... it's that fun... Once you step of though you need a wheelchair...

Reliability is really good... altough once they do need fixing the parts aren't cheap and usually takes a while to arrive...

swordfish is an unknown quantity at this point
I have a local shop owner friend who track rides aprillia mille's exclusively. we were talking about valve adjustments and he said every time he's opened one up to check, they have NEVER needed adjusting. now this guy has about 5 milles from different years right now. he has regularly checked anyway but he says to his own amazement, that he's never had to touch them. so that says something for their reliability I would think.
