Anyone ever adapt a stock hugger to the VTR?

Anyone ever adapt a stock hugger to the VTR?
I've been looking for a cheap hugger / chainguard combo, and I was thinking I could just get a stock hugger/chainguard off another bike and adapt it to the VTR. I read superbling's post a while back stating that he used a 919 hugger and modded it to fit, does anyone else have any ideas?
