Anybody go to Laconia?
Anybody go to Laconia?
Went up Wed., I think the only totally rain free day of the week. Did just over 350 miles, left the House at 6am, and rolled back in just before 10:30pm. Long day, lots of riding, and nice roads, we took the scenic route and didn't get up to Laconia until after 1pm. Saw 2 other Hawks, both yellow, one turing into the BK in Tilton, and another further down on rt 3. Saw the same old stuff as every other year, now it's just an excuse for a ride. One of the guys has a ST1300 ('06) that he picked up last year with 7 miles on it for $8500 with a brand new helmet and coat/pants. The original owner broke his wrist (he's a Judo instructor) and can't ride anymore, this other guy is installing an irrigation system at the house and comments on the bike (he used to have a ST1100), the rest is history. Sweet bike, wouldn't mind picking one up someday for the longer rides. I'd post pics, but if you just imagine a ton of bikes, mostly identical looking Harleys, with a few sportbikes and oddities thrown in, then you have your own picture. We did see Laconias finest ticketing/towing 4 bikes for parking in a handicap zone. Normally it pissses me off to see people parking in those spots just to be lazy, but this was at Weirs beach, which is closed to all except motorcycles. I didn't see any bikes with HC plates waiting for the spots, or any where for that matter. I'm sure we'll do it again next year.

On Wed I got about half way there and my scoot picked up a screw in the rr tire. Just as it started to ride the rim I rolled up on a Mom&Pop store in da woods, as luck would have it- they had a cheapy plug kit. The third plug attempt held & I high tailed it home. EH, so I missed amatuer hr at the Harleyween costume ball. Next time

Alright, here are a few. I didn't really take many. The video on the bike was taken one-handed, so it's a little shaky.
This was on 128, a tractor trailer flipped over, nice start to the day.

This was at the hillclimb (Gunstock Mt.) the band was called Camarojuana, pretty funny. Hillclimb was sort of dissapointing since they moved it to a much smaller hill, more of a slight incline climb, so I'll spare those pics.

You could be riding this and burning your legs off for only $28,500.

A shot of Weirs Beach. The friendly officer was waiting for the ramp truck.

Even the doggies get to come.

A quick vid of Weirs.

Short one of the riding.
