A ? about chin fairings, with a link to some awsome riding skills!

This is my chin fairing. When ever the sun hits it in the morning and heats up the tank, I get a little bit of gasoline dribble from the tank breather hose. I took off the fairing and this is what it looks like AFTER cleaning. Does everyone else's look like this??

thanks!

Check out this guys wet track handling skills too!

if you like filling the tank up so much that it does overflow just move the breather hose so it drains not on the fairing

I fill it up just below the little bar inside the opening... and I actually think this happens no matter what the fuel level. How do I know how far to fill it?

Are you filling it and then parking without riding any distance? Gas expands quite a bit when heated, and it's rather cold in the underground tanks at the gas station.

I once filled up on my way to work 25 years ago on a hot January day (hey, it's California) and 5 miles down the freeway my BLACK tank started to overflow. I took my speed up to burn more gas and stop the overflow.

If you ride around a little after filling up, say 10 miles (burns 1 quart), that should solve it.

shizzy, that video is great! He has supreme balance skills, to bad it ain't as easy as he makes it look.

It has to be the hot cold cycles of sitting out side in the sun. I officially consider it "normal".
