Hi All,Put on 255 miles on the 01 today in the hills and mountains of KY. Started out this morning at 8:20 am in 55 degrees and some fog. Thought I was gonna freeze and finally hit some sunshine, although, it was still chilly. Went to church and afterwards, rode out some more and got home at 3:30 (had to stop at Subway for dinner). Wanted to see how I would get sore. Well about 165 miles into my round trip, the monkey butt started in. Wasn't too bad, though. Not nearly as sore as I thought I might be. That was it as far as general discomfort. This bike for me is very comfortable to ride. All I've done is put on grip puppies and some heavier bar ends. GTG! As a side note, I got 40 mpg on the interstate 75 to 80 mph and 43 mpg through the hills and mountains and I wasn't creepin' either, but wasn't flyin'.I enjoy the bike, but respect it, also.How far do you all generally ride? The most I've done is about 450 miles, but a more common day trip for me is 150 to 200 miles.

 

What are grip puppies.......do, you have to feed them! HAHAHAHAH!

 

It's the given name for foam slip-on's. Hey brother...it is what it is. I didn't name 'em, I just bought a pair to go over my stock grips and they work well for me.

 

That's a nice day ride. Join the MSTA (Motorcycle Sport Touring Association). Our Saturday group rides to lunch are generally between 250-350 miles...home in time for an afternoon nap...

 

Sunday's are usually about 400, sometimes 5 if we get out early with a small group of people who can hang. Today was cut short by a couple minor crashes so I only did 280. Squids....
