Pretty painful seeing my buddy on the ground like that. He's ok, though:

dude, if I lived in Warrenton like you I'd be there 24/7. It was Monday late afternoon. Usually pretty quiet up there on the weekdays. Luckily I'm self-employed and he has Mondays off so we usually ride on Mondays.

The road appeared a little damp/wet in some areas, and what's with all the white paint across the lane?... especially at a corner exit where I'd be on the gas hard. Combined, I'd say it was an accident waiting to happen. My guess is the rear tire stepped out on some damp pavement, then he rolled off the throttle and high sided. On second viewing, he could have just slid sideways into the guardrail then bounced off it. Did he detail what happened? I'm sure he had plenty of time to think about it and analyze it as it was happening.
I think you were wise in taking it easy. Come back on a dry, sunny day to step it up a little.
Glad your friend was okay. Yet another testimonial for full face helmets. A Harley rider wearing a "peanut shell" would be making a trip to the oral surgeon, at the least.

I visited your youtube channel ( I am guessing its yours) and you talk in one of your videos about mounting a camera to your helmet, but, you dont mention what kind of camera it is.
I say this because I would like to video as well. Partly because I want to show the roads and the idiots on it.
I also have the sense that The camera may be the only witness to my demise by a cager, and I will have video proof.
What camera is it?

I must've seen a dozen sport bikes stuffed into railings on that road, always east-side downhill. Great road but apparently easy to make a mistake on. I've ridden bicycles up and down in dozens of times.
