Question 2005 model question

I own a 2005 SH. I would like to do some mods over the fall and winter and have run into a little hang-up a couple of times searching for parts online. It is pretty common to see that aftermarket parts fit the 1998 to 2004 models. I have read that the SH didn't really change that much over its production run, so my question is how much different is the 2004 production model and the 2005 model? Will parts that fit a 2004 fit on my 2005? Thanks

In the way of aftermarket parts just about anything I can think of is going to swap between any years-exhausts, jet kits, chain and sprockets, brakes, tires, wheels, suspension, seats, screens. Besides colors to bodywork and suspension/engine covers, and updating the gauges and I believe slightly raising the bars (was it in '01 I believe?) the bikes are the same. I saw a picture of an '05 and the reservoir on the master cylinder looks different. I even read somewhere the capacity of the tank was raised slightly too in later years but I see the '05 specs are still the same.

To answer your question I think you'd be hard pressed to find anything that's not going to swap between an '04 and an '05, if even possible-I believe both bikes are identical.

The tank capacity was only raised for the European Superhawks (Firestorms).

+1...most likely the website hasn't updated their model years - I've run into this a lot.

as another 2005 owner I've often wondered this too....we do have a nicer looking set of resevoirs, but seems like the rest is the same. A few online places claim through 2003 only...must just be out-of-date

Thanks everyone. Man, is it frustrating to find the parts you want fit every year bike BUT the year that you own. I hoped that it was just an oversite on the part of the retailer, but I wanted to ask before shelling out for something that doesn't quite fit. Thanks again.

Are the reservoirs not the cylindrical type for the 05's?
