I am looking at a used 2002 SH with 27k on the clock.

It is in good condition and I am wondering if I should look at any issues before making an offer.

the bike is at a local Honda dealer at a high price.

I am planning to possibily make an offer if the collective gives me a good feedback.


any comments or further information I need to supply. please respond and I cna fill in the blanks

 

First, find out if there is a service maintenance record on the bike. Secondly, what upgrades/mods have been done to the bike.

Two improvement upgrades to the Superhawk is front suspension and front brakes. Neither are expensive if you can turn a wrench and read a service manual.

How much is the dealer asking for the bike? You might find a forum member in your area that might be selling a similar or better bike.

It looks like a mostly stock hawk.

I will ask aboout the service history.

The dealer is asking $4700, yes high but I know that.

I know of no local members looking to sell... but have not asked.

 

where are you located? I'm in Dallas, TX. got a 2000 shawk with less than 4700 miles. 2nd owner. I'll sell it for $3850.00. I don't know where you are but go to www.uship.com where you can get different guys to bid on hauling the bike for you. A guy in VA was interested in it and had quotes in the neighborhood of $400.00 to move it about 1400 miles. Don't rush. There was an original owner 2001 SH 6K miles that sold for $4000 2 weeks ago on ebay. I just bought a MSO 2002 SH with only 1,233 miles on ebay, I am registered as the 1st owner and even got the original 1 year warranty for less $ than the bike you are looking at. Be patient and find a good low mileage bike for a fair price. Happy hunting.

 

I agree. you should not rush anything. however, I am certain that most members here will not argue that a 2000 model with about 4650 original miles for $3850.00 is a good deal.
