Its in the mid 50s here in Buffalo NY so yes the 'hawk will get a few miles put on today... Had it out a few times this year already when the weather was cooperative - sure makes you appreciate the bike after not being able to ride it for weeks or months at a time

took the bike down the street and around the corner. managed to catch a speed wobble over some frost heaves.

anyone else out there experience the "spring power shock"? after many months of losong perspective of riding and only driving i forget how fast bikes are. every spring i get on my bike and when it near rips my arms off i always say to myself that this bike has got crazy power!

this is my first spring without a gixxer. i wondered if the first ride of spring "power shock" would be as strong with the hawk. i was just as shocked.

Yep, just experienced that myself a couple of weeks ago after having it parked for a few months. After it finally started and warmed up, it took my breath away when I laid into it. Scared myself a little while passing a bus on a back road and gave me a gentle (hitting the tank) reminder of what happens when you downshift. All in all, a great first ride of the season!

Ended up getting the DR350 dual sport and the hawk out for rides...

Yes we get lake effect snow, quite a lot at times but usually other areas to the east like Syracuse get more snow per season than we do.
