1/4 Mile times?

1/4 Mile times?
I took my Superhawk to Gateway Int. Raceway last night for test and tune. I was a little nervous because this was my first time running a bike at the track and there were a lot of pro racers there for the AHDRA event this weekend. I made two runs and my best time was 12.402 @ 114MPH. How does this compare with what you have run?

Re: 1/4 Mile times?
Never been to the drag strip on mine. Rode it at Sears on the AMA course at a track day. Did an unofficial 2:07 there and and also clocked a blistering 1:53 at Laguna on a stock VTR. Thank you for not laughing.

Re: 1/4 Mile times?
My best time was 11.5 at 119mph horrible launch though I think I could see more like a 11.2 my 60 foot was 2.034 not good at all the other bikes there were geting 1.8's and even better without extended swing arms I think I'm going to norwalk next weekend if I do I will let you know what I run this time....

mine has gone best of 10.7@123mph. usually runs consistant 10.9's-11.1's though. just did new clutch, plugs, filter, battery. new track times in good air to come!
edit: 60' was 1.6. 1/8th mile was a 6.8@101mph.

AMF Racing;
Glad to see you post your excellent time. Contrary to popular legend, the VTR is a ten second bike in skilled hands.
The first VTR tested by motorcycle.com ran a 10.83. The one tested by Motorcycle Consumer News ran 10.98. Those were bone stock bikes with stock sprockets.
How is your bike set up?

very nice times... i was told that my bike should run high 6's or had the potential to do so.. and you did it 6.8 @ 101.. very nice..
i talked to a guy that is tuneing my bike and re-jetting it, that his runs 10's..
i want to know the same on how it is setup, and is there an extension that will work with the rear.. the guy i talked to said he believes that there is.. just couldn't remember which one would work with it..

Ditto on the strap. I love drag racing, just usually don't do it on the Hawk. I can't find the slip, but first time I took the bike to the track years ago and bone stock I ran 11.4X consistantly (3 passes). I took it down to Houston Raceway Park a couple weeks ago, with the mods in sig, and learned I apparently forgot how to launch:
R/T - .067
60' - 2.275
330 - 5.486
1/8 - 8.002
MPH - 98.26
1000 - 10.154
1/4 - 11.997
MPH - 122.12
Beauty of a 60', huh? After laughing at the stock Gixxer 750 in the lane next to me for his John Force-style burnout (I guess he thought he was going to spin LOL) I bogged at the line (thinking too much about my 15/43 conversion) and carried the front wheel at 3/4 throttle through 2nd heading toward the wall - it was all pretty ugly until 3rd. I was bummed as I recently did a re-jet, sync and TPS mod and it has been running infinitely better. It was just too cold and the staging lanes were too full to make another pass. I really think this thing has 10s in it with a strap and/or maybe going back to a 16 front. Oh well, at least I beat the Gix.
