VFR Vs. CRB 1100xx "BlackBird"

I can get either one, both about the same price. What one will be the best for riding 300 Mile days?

The VFR but the XX will get you there sooner! LOL A popular blackbird mod is to add VFR bars.

I did a few 600+ mile days on my '04 VFR... and loved every minute of it! I can't speak for the 1100xx as I've never put a large amount of miles on one.

What year VFR? I'd love to get a 5th gen one. I know the 6th gen ones are considered great bikes, but they weigh more than the XX, Busa, and within 5 lbs. of the ZX-14. That's just not right.

They weight about the same, cost the same, with the higher bars the XX should be just as comfy. And it makes 35 more HP at the rear wheel. Ane its top gear 60-80 time is barely more than half that of the VFR.

I've owned both and still have my VFR. The VFR is more comfy hands-down. Not just the riding position, but the suspension is much smoother as well. The VFR is the better corner-carver. The reach to the bars is much longer on the XX and the pegs are higher. The clip-ons are lower and narrower on the XX too. The XX has a longer wheelbase and the front-end feel is somewhat vague. The XX is a nice bike, but it is a high-speed bullet train. To me, it felt bored under 100. Would be great if not for those pesky speed limits. IMO, the VFR is by far the better real-world bike; better gas mileage, wind protection, etc. and to answer the question, better for 300 mile days- unless you live near the Autobahn!

The xx has a bigger wind sheild too... and I feel a little board on my VTR under 100 too :P But yeah. I have long arms for my size. and remember the bars higher and closer too.

Although neither of those bikes is particularly appealing to me, I would go with the XX for the engine alone, especially if I lived in Alaska.

If it was me I'd go with the XX, but then again I don't make my vehical purchases based on rational thought. I more for buying on emotion and then rationalizing away why I did it. The VFR is probably more practical, but I would always second guess not going with the XX just for the thrill factor.

I would always opt for more power, so I naturally would go with the XX! You can do a lot to ease ergos for little or no money at all, but to get more power you'll shell out big bucks for small gains...my 2 cents...

If you already have a VTR I would get the XX as the VTR and VFR are similar all-around streetbikes. The XX will fill the horsepower jones nicely.
