Time to take action against unfair insurance rules

Taken from other boards:

Over in our nation's capital a bill has been introduced to correct the stupid *** HIPAA rule that recognizes while employers cannot refuse health care coverage to an employee on the basis of their participation in a recognized legal activity (motorcycling, skiing, horseback riding, snowmobiling, etc). However, benefits can be denied for injuries sustained in connection with those activities. Therefore, we are guaranteed the right to health care coverage but not any benefits
go to the AMA rapid response site to contact your legislator.

You would have to live here to believe it. When I entered the regular stuff it tells me I am in a split district. Asks for my physical address - entered twice and twice it tells me - twice - I don't exist.

Government by the self-appointed few of the free (so to speak).

WTF is going on?

That same headline has been up in the Rapid Reponse since last February. Neither bill has advanced at all during that time. HIPPA passed in 1996. In eleven years the AMA has made no progress on this problem.

Nontheless, you can expect to get an AMA membership solicitation for your efforts.

Well if the Government says you don't exist, I'd stop paying taxes.

You ever hear of compartmental blindness? If I want something or reasonable like utilities - I don't exist. If they want to collect money because I AM here - they got that all figured out. They line up like dogs on a sled.

Compartmental blindness... Is that anything like me not hearing my significant other telling me to do stuff? Altough that would be compartmental hearing I guess...

That assumes you are sleeping with local government and I'm not. They assess all their fees but refuse to upgrade our services. The city came to us not the other way.

Well, that's just plain wrong... If you pay equal you get equal services and that's it... No if's or butts about it...
