dumb question

Doing 1st oil change since buying hawk, Oil filter off and just a few dribbles, plenty of oil in window. Is there a drain plug, or do i need to lift back of bike?

drew is right, it helps if ya have a engine hoist as the swingarm stand ussually doesn't lift the bike enough to get all the oil drained!

Forgot to mention that if you remove the wheel it will drain faster. I take advantage of this time and clean everything up while the wheel is removed.

Speaking of slowing down, are you going to make it to the river float this weekend?

I don't think you have to lift the rear if the front end is properly set up. The bike needs to be level right to left but if you're running the proper setup through the triples the oil will just drain out. In the level position without a rider, the little screw head on the oil filter body is 139 mm from the concrete. At these settings everything just rolls out the front.

You been tearing up the backyard like you said? The river doesn't sound good. Friends there last week - float two miles - four hours.

Yep, no better way to get over knee surgery than to spread 4 yards of sand and a few hundred paving stones. Now i have two 12' x 36' patio's in the back yard. As you can tell we are all about entertaining our guest!

Yes i am bored waiting on my next aircraft to arrive. The "Con-Air" boys were busy loading up Mexicans to take them back across the border. They use part of our ramp twice a week for mexicans and a couple more times for "regular" criminals!

Crappy cell phone pic.

The board you are using to retain your pavers will be gone in two to three years - even if it's pressure treated. We use a rebar border floated by rebar pins (6" long). Drive the pins in along your border. Bend and wire a "runner" rebar from pin to pin all along the border. Cover the rebar structure with mortar mix but stay 1/2" below the top edge of the paver. The grass covers over the edging and you have a permanent edge to your work.

It's not permenant, we will hopefully be installing a inground pool next year! So i only used materials that can be reused again (except the pressure treated lumber).

oh yeah, the border has 16" rebar drilled through the center of the boards and into the ground.
