I'm working on a custom home in San Diego where the owner had a secret bookcase that opens up. Heavy friggen case with a large closet behind it. Never knew it was there until the contractor showed me.

Once looked at a house with a genuine 60s style bomb shelter. Really well done, sturdy door/walls, filtered ventilation, cots, water tank, lots of storage. Cramped, nowhere near enough room for a shop, no windows of course. I couldn't figure out what I'd possibly want to do or store there that I wouldn't rather use the garage or another room for instead.
Would have been a cool conversation piece, but had no real value to me.
