Honda MB5

I saw one of these going down the road the other day and it was awesome. My understanding is they were only imported to the states in 1982. Anybody know anything about these or where I might be able to find one for sale.

My best buddy won one of these in a radio contest back in the day. It wasn't very useful because of the convoluted driving laws here. It was basically a moped, but it did not conform to moped regulations - did not have pedals and was a little too fast.
As a result it had to be registered and insured just like a "real" motorcycle and you had to have a motorcycle license.

Those were funky little 50cc 2 smokes for the street. When I had a Honda SL100 I thought I wanted one of these until I rode a friends. They were pretty gutless but sounded cool with the ring-a-ding. Save up for an old RZ350 if you want a nice small 2 stroke.

If your hellbent on the MB5 here is one in SoCal for $500...http://inlandempire.craigslist.org/mcy/1707543339.html

While you're looking for the MB5, you might as well look for a CR80 motor.
I hear it makes for an entertaining combo........

Used to be a racing class down here for the MB. Ran 'em on the local go-cart tracks, much preferred over the Lambretta's and Vespa's.
