Extended Swingarm for the Street?
Why would someone put an extended swingarm on a streetbike?
A couple of days ago I saw a generic I4 sportbike go by, but couldn't believe my eyes when I saw it had about 12 inch longer swingarm. I know there are advantages for drag racing (reduces wheelies) and hill climb, but for a sport bike on the street?
It would corner like a 5 foot long skateboard. I've seen some heavily modded sportbikes on "Superbikes" on SpeedTV, but I figured those guys just had too much money to spend and not enough brains.

I have a buddy who wants to do this to his 600rr right after he puts on a 300 and a bottle. He is an old drag race guy and just goes straight. Wheelies most of the time and never hits the corners. I still think he is crazy but to each his own.

Extended swing arms are bad enough, but I saw a catalog somewhere that was offering chromed plastic frame covers. Yep, that's right: now the wanna-bes don't even have to actually chrome their frames, they can buy plastic covers to make it look like their frame is chromed!
