Anybody know where to ride in the ABQ area?

Just thought i would check as I will be moving there at the end of the week....

It a long story but it is what it is and at least i'll get to spend some time around my dad while I still can.

Also the VTRoTM might be a bit slow in getting posted as I don't know when I'll have internet access once I get there

Ain't life grand.....

My wife is from there and we get over there every few years, but unfortunately I don't know the fun roads.

My guess is that you're going to want to head north and/or east. Just look for mountains as that's usually a good sign!

And good luck on the move!

East mountains. Take the road up to the top of the sandias. Just head east on 40 until you get just out of town. Take exit 175 north up 14 then take Sandia Crest rd. back west up the mountain. Great views, if you take the tram to the tippy top peak (off tramway where Abq. runs into the mountains) you can see 11,000 sq miles. On a clear night you could see the lights of the M on M mountain 80 miles south where I went to college.

It's not like you fell off the planet, Mike. There's some really beautiful country near where you're going. Change is always uncomfortable but it's usually good. Stay Strong - Stay healthy. May the road favor your effort.

Only 200 miles from the start of the Million Dollar Highway, with New Mexico's rocky mountains in between... how bad could it be? It's not year round riding and Albuquerque not a favored location of mine... but you seem like the resourceful type... I'm sure you'll make the best of it rather easily.
