AMA's at Road America

Hey everybody. I was at the track this weekend and would like to know who else was. There was an unusually large % of VTR's at the track.

I wasn't there, but that was a great duke out between Josh Hayes and Tommy Hayden. I'm pulling for Jake Zemke this season though.

Yep, i saw at least 5. Never noticed even a single one in the prior three years. Also saw 3 RC51s, never saw those there before either.

I would say that I easily saw 20. There was an absolute ton of them.

Racing on both days was exciting, both in Superbike and DSB, congratulations to Josh, Tommy, Josh, & Martin. I still miss the good old days, with Nicky, Maladin, Spies, Hodgson, Bostrom, Duhamel, Hacking, Yates, and even Kurtis, backing it into turn five. The playing field seems to have been leveled, the current riders are certainly good, but with a few exceptions, they were mostly mid pack or back markers 2000 - 2008.

I have given Zemke the evil eye for the last couple of years, and he will continue to drop in the standings, until I lift the hex.

Well that explains his sudden downturn of fortune. Stop it!

Yup, great racing. Hayes & Hayden put on a great show in both Superbike races. I hadn't noticed it so much before, but Tommy is a very smooth rider. In the last race you knew he had to be on Hayes rear wheel coming out of the last turn on on the last lap, and he was. I just knew he was going to draft him up the hill to the finish line, but when Hayes pushed it wide into the dirt he instantly went to plan B. He knew Hayes had to slow so he said "screw the draft" and just drag raced up the hill. Great riding by both of them. Hayes is a class guy, too.
